“Flawed Supremacy” 2008
Acrylic on wood
Justice is blind, and so are we. The protagonist appears with a black bandage over his eyes while in the background phantoms of the past and present float through spaces of urban slurry. A warrior puts in an appearance, staking his claim on conquered land. Ronald Mac Donald waves out with his garish smile pasted on his clown face—another ‘innocuous’ symbol of neo-colonialism. The scales of justice weigh heavy as the bust of a political head is suspended on the other end of the scales. The fighter plane looms over this scenario, omnipresent and ever-threatening.
