“In the city of fear” 2008
Acrylic on wood
Size – 48”x48” | Medium – acrylic on wood
The phantom bus to nowhere, where faces at the window are severed, interrupted by a joint of wood that does not allow the viewer full access to the image. The anonymity of this common man is maintained and hence the image becomes generic. Insecurity is rife and in current times a mundane ride on a bus can turn into a nightmare of death and destruction. The surcharge on the ticket does not ensure a safe ride. Are passengers paying for allowing their mask of indifference to slip?
